Opening a bank account for your company in the UAE — documents and steps
The bank account is part of starting work. We explain what banks usually ask for, and how to prepare your file so it goes smoothly.
What do banks usually ask for?
The government portal states that companies and freelancers usually provide the trade license and company documents, and that each bank may add its own conditions. According to the Central Bank's rulebook, banks verify the legal entity, the articles of association and the address of the head office.
- The trade license and registration certificate
- The articles of association and memorandum
- Passports of partners, managers and authorised signatories
- Residency or Emirates ID, if available
- The head office address and a document proving it
- Additional documents the bank may request depending on your activity
